First devlog - Original demo, and future of the project
Final Eclipse » Devlog
Final Eclipse is a project I started back in 2003.. and now that it’s old enough to vote, I’m reviving it! Fortunately I’m collaborating with the wonderful Jeff who is helping me port over to PyGame. Progress is going very smoothly on that front.
Even before porting it, we actually managed to make a lot of headway from the demo version of the game I’ve uploaded here. In no particular order:
- Wall decals, for things like blood stains, interactive buttons, and other objects.
- Key items that you need to open areas
- Automated scripting for doors
- An air pressure system, for hull breaches!
- Smoother movement
- Log system improvements, and objectives
- Enemy projectiles
Still to come, will be:
- Redesigned UI for proper widescreen support
- Gamepad support
- New art assets from the original artst, Corey Annis
- Fully fleshed out dual hand system
- Mutation system
- And more!
As one final tease, I’ve included a mockup of what the new graphics will hopefully look like.
More updates soon!
